why would you choose a 960 over the 2600?

For 1k you can make a monster!

All items from scan.co.uk, a monster build! Personally not a fan of NZXT build quality and could probably save some by only having 8gb RAM rather than the 16gb this build specifies. But technically you won't be wanting for performance for a while at least :). The SSD is monstrously fast!!

Intel Core i7 2600K 1 £227.00
Asus P8Z68-V LE 1 £117.22
1GB XFX HD 6870 Black Edition 1 £140.02
8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 XMS3, PC3-10600 2 88.32
775W Thermaltake ThoughPower XT Modular 1 £78.92
NZXT Lexa S, Black Mid Tower Performance Case w/o PSU 1 £58.02
Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP 12x Blu-ray BD-ROM & DVDRW 1 £41.98
120GB OCZ Solid 3 SSD, 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s 1 £151.34

£902.82

Got an excel document if you want the links and prices in spreadsheet form?

videocard is the most important for games, i would get a crossfire setup... if you are a hardcore gamer!

Lol have you ever used a crossfire setup? At the resolutions larz will be using it will be pointless for now, crossfire is a viable path when you simply want to run more intensive games like a year later. For an average end user I would NEVER suggest crossfire, added complexity alone is enough to be a put off plus every new game release requires the drivers to be updated. It would just become a hassle and unnecessary!

Yeah absolutely if you wanted to add another 5/6 series card to your system that's a brilliant idea but to shell out circa £4-600 for a pair of GPU's is pointless unless you've got lots to burn :)
