It will be very difficult to get an unbiased response to this question on this forum because we are mainly based in the UK and the only DC5 most of us have seen is the Type R (and not many of those!).
I don't want to sell the opposition but you may get a more knowledgeable response from one of the American forums such as clubrsx.com as they have a wider range of models available to them and are therefore more likely to help you.
