Drivers side central locking motor

REF: 02 DC2 type R.

Recently my drivers door fails to open or shut when I activate either my alarm, or press the toggle switch for locking the doors. Is this a common problem for dc5's?. (the passenger door and the boot work fine)

Im looking for a motor but i'm finding one hard to source.

Any help would be great.

I am having the exact problem and have to lock the door with KEY. I have bought the Driver side door actuator from David Johnson, Steels Honda.( Tel 01432 267154)

the part number is 72115 S6A J01 £61.31 PLus VAT and delivery.

Hello lads, iv recently bought a dc5 and think I have the same problem,
when I lock my car with the alarm remote all doors lock, which is fine, but when I'm sat in the car and use the lock all doors button on the drivers door everything locks apart from the drivers door, is this right or is it broken? The thing that is confusing me is that it lock and the door pin goes down on the remote control but doesn't do it when on the button on the drivers door, another thing is if I just push the drivers door pin down then all doors locks.

Also do you know how to take the drivers door card off as my speaker doesn't work?

Any help on any of the above would be well met.

generally Honda's electrics are spot on and trouble free, i am going out on a limb here and suggest it could well be a problem with your alarms? it could well be a fitting issue, not, sure how the door circuit works or why it should be one door in particular as they both lock and unlock the same amount of times. defo a bit weird, will be good to post your solutions for future reference.

All locks locking when you push the drivers door pin down is normal I think isn't it?

I've just had the same problem with the actuator... I wonder how common a problem this is?

I've just had it all apart and taken a look whilst checking connections etc... Will be on the phone in the morning to order a new actuator

key: wont open driver door (don't want to force it), will open passenger door
interior lock pin: both pins react as expected when you put them up or down
fob: will lock boot and passenger door but not driver door
interior lock button on door: does the same as the fob.

Am i looking at this actuator problem too?

larz does the drivers interior pin lock the door when pushed down?, if not it looks like an actually lock itself problem as even with actuator failing u should still be able to lock/unlock it with the actual key

Has anyone changed the actuator on the door and is it a straight forward job?

Once in the car try and use the door lock function on the door card.

If they both work then i i will be an alarm at fault not the lock solinoid.

My friends EP3 did this recently and i found a good dose of WD40 did the trick once it had soaked overnight.

Take it to an auto electrician. I'd bet it's an alarm/actuator issue.

I have almost the same problem, but than only all locks won't open when I push the unlock button on my clifford fob.

Would this be an alarm issue ? I can open all locks when I use the door lock function on the doorcard (driverside)

Im having the same problem with mine, when i bought the car, the fob would unlock it all, then the passenger side wouldnt unlock, now the driver side, but the boot still locks and unlocks with fob.....so now i have to use the key for both doors or manually push down or pull up inside the car as the central locking button inside doesnt work either......

Is this the actuator or another problem? i took it to a specialist and they told me it was the door motors that had packed up (£190+vat from Honda!)

Can anyone help me please?
