I can't seem to get rid of the itch to get an ek9!

I used to own a b swapped coupe

Absolutely loved it!

I love driving my 5 but have no bond with it compared to my Ek!

And I've always wanted a hatch, ek9 seems the logical option.

Anyone owned one and a 5?

Yea mate. I had a stripped Ek coupe with a b16a2 but ran a hondata ecu chip on it.

Vtec at 4.4k rev limit just under 10k!!

Thing was MENTAL!!!!!

I had a pretty sorted ek9 but I like the torque of the K-series too much to go back. But a 9 with a k20.. thats where its at!
Found an old one of my 9 at Combe..

Had both, EK9 defo the more raw hoot of a drive on a B-road, out of v-tec there is no pull at all. I would say a lot of people can't drive them properly which is where they get the overrated status from imo People have a very high expectation of them on some forums.

I had a lightweight (cheapo version as I called it) version. So no electric windows, no srs or abs shit. Just momo steering wheel recaros and a B16b with LSD box.

DC5 is the better daily car, pretty effortless to drive fast compared to an EK9. Hence where my sig comes from ;)

I appreciate them, but it is a step backwards from a DC5 IMO.

They have a cult status which is probably the appeal.

Its a car from a different age, really cant compare them!
I wouldnt say it was a step backwards at all though haha,I would have one in a heartbeat but im spoiled with a 5 for a better daily driver.

My dc5 sits on the drive. I haven't driven it since japfest. Before that was 3 weeks for mimms before that was 4 months!

It's a show queen. I want a track inspired car.

I'm sort of afraid to do loads on the 5 as its too nice a car!

Ek9 is the same as my old Ek basically and I did EVERYTHING on it.

Countless engine swaps ect.

I miss the handling on my old ek9's! Although I love my Dc5 it just lacks something. But the Dc5 gets more looks than my ek9 did haha

I considered an EK9 before I finally decided on a DC5.

It was me thinking about having a fun car for less, pocket the rest of the cash into savings after selling the Z.
I really like them and thought buying a classic would be nice.

Was proving hard to find an non abused one, only one (I found) sold quite quickly (eke.org) which was immaculate. However after long consideration
I couldnt live with one every day.

If I had the cash to have one and something else then id reconsider...

I do feel the DC5 is superior, completely different generation however. The B16 following makes them better than they actually are, maybe ;-)

:)

It is a feeling, like an itch you cant scratch though ha ha........
