Engine rebuild advice

Are you using ARP Bolts anywhere in your build?
Did Mase break-in the engine on the dyno for you or did you do it yourself? How did you go about it and what oils did you use?

that seems low ?

plenty cars on here pulling that power before kpro, and a fair bit more after

am i missing something ?

That power is at the wheels, not the flywheel!

i know. just seems to me that level of engine modification should be yielding more power than that. id expect hp figures closer to supercharged units, i think someone has done similar n/a mods and got 270ish ? at the wheels

Most Definitely not. Monz made 230 something at the wheels and was described by Mase as one of the most powerful n/a cars he's tuned here

my bad then. 270 must of been fly ?

its still shy of 230whp all mods considering. surely a tweaked map wont find 20whp?



ps. dont hate me :p im just a bit new to dc5s/vtec/performance piston engines. been with rotary for nearly 2 years lol

With the parts listed in his build not all of them yield power, there's a lot of detail been left out :)

He's not even said where his maximum power is or showed us the area under the graph.
Power loses through the drive train is also different in every car.

You've also got to remember that you can't really compare two car's figures unless they're on the same dyno on the same day. Every dyno varies.


If Mase says it's good then it's GOOD :D

All done now. Had the head replaced and the all internals replaced.
Wiseco 87.5mm forged pistons
K1 forged rods
Skunk2 Stg3 cams
Skunk2 titanium valves
Uprated valve springs and retainers

All the work carried out by TGM and remapped by Mase.
Everything is working beautifully and making nice power. 214BHP at the wheels, but potential for more with some minor tweaks.
Which dyno was this? Dyno Dynamics??
