Thinking of buying some of this heat rap stuff for my mannie but heard of horror stories with cracking due to higher temps.

Does anyone know if the oem man is cast iron? or if anyone has done this before, please let me know your experiences?

BTW tried the search but didn't pull anything up on manifold rap etc

Hope you can help,
Cheers

wrap is ok. but you have to wrap it perfect. If you wrap it uneven you will get hot spots and this can lead to cracking. As all the heat is trying to get out of the manifold at one place. Me personally i would go for ceramic coating as this keeps the engine bay nice and cool. Plus they coat it inside and out. Making the gasses flow better out of the exhaust.

This is what im going for.

Sounds like a better solution. Where you getting that done and for how much?

Presumably you can just buy off the shelf and do yourself too :?:

You send it off to them then they send it back to you.

your best bet is to give them a bell. Its alot more (price wise) than wrap but it does extend the life of a tubular manifold.

you can do it yourself but i dont know where to get stuff from.
