I may have forgotten to put mine back on after topping coolant... Whoops.

Due to being quite skint at the moment I started looking for one that would fit in the garage but had no luck.

But, it turns out something from the kitchen did.

The top from a bertolli extra virgin olive oil bottle. It screws on perfectly, even has a seal in the top.

AFAIK the expansion tank doesn't pressurise during usage so for now it's a free fix - God knows how long for but it seems perfect for now.

Got the 75K service coming up soon so I'm saving pennies for that.

Mother of invention innit ;)
Gotta laugh at things being used from the kitchen, i used the missus baster for sucking out the steering fluid LOL.

Didn't put it back though, it's got a permanent place on my tool rack now.

You know the earphones you fit in your ear have a kind of mushroom shaped rubber bit that goes in your ear, well I pulled that off and cut the stalk part off leaving just effectively a thin rubber washer. Well I had an issue where the jazz washer jets flopped about on my bonnet due to me not having any rubber grommets on.....fitted my earphone rubbers and hey presto nice tight washer jets. Love jury rigged fixes.
