Ive just had camber adjusters fitted to both front and rear and had a fast road setup done on my car. WOW! what a difference its made on the car and its excellent on the bends now :D ,but i dont know if its me but it seems a bit slower on a straight road especially on the motorway now since ive had it done? What could be the problem here? :?

You will lose a bit of speed on the straights with having more neg camber and changing the toe settings. On the drag strip you would ideally have the camber set to 0 degrees and have the toe set to parallel to give better acceleration and traction.

On the road and track the benefits of a fast road set up far outweigh the negatives of losing straight line speed. I'm very surprised you could tell the difference though and even on a drag strip the difference would be marginal.

Hi Eds

Yeah wish i had this mod done right from the start! The steering feel is great now though! Definately a mod that is well worth the money as the car seems to be glued to the bends now haha

Still miss the power that i used to have though on the straight so might save up money now and get more power (maybe cams etc..) and make the car a bit lighter so it'll be quicker off the line :D

Have you still got your motor? Gutted your selling mate!

Yeah its weired with me as i drive the car daily i notice little things that change very easily. Especially now with the camber done and i do a few motorway mileage it does seem a bit slower than usual. BUT it gives me excuse to save up and maybe get cams and make the car lighter so its quicker  Thanks for info by the way :D

Not really had chance yet to give it the welly as im working away now so will let you know once i get back matey. But its well worth the money to get it done. Did you ever get that little twitch when conering really fast on the rear of the car?? I did and now its gone!! Its like its glued to the bends  big massive difference!

I cant wait to get onto the track to see the difference!

Sorry to hijack aswell but... As my coilovers have died im considering going back to stock with lowered springs and fast road set up.
Seems obvious choice would be Spoon progs but anyone got better views of other springs?
Cheers

eibach springs give a better ride than spoons, also cheaper, and quieter.

your fast road geo should make an unnoticable difference to your cars performance, if it has you should get it rechecked as they have made a mistake. or look for another problem elsewhere

I find the DC5 wants to pull all over the place when accelerating harshly, is this normal? Also with the Fast road setup will it make it more unstable when accelerating in a straight line?

yes, when negative camber is added the contact patch of the tyre on the road is reduced, thus reducing stability.
BUT when cornering the tyre is pushed flat so grip is increased.
having lots of camber won't necessarily increase tyre wear, having too much toe will however as the tyres are being scrubbed along the road.

Does anyone else feel the DC wants to pull left or right (prob coz of the road surface) on harsh acceleration?

Yes that's normal and it's a mixture of the LSD/camber/tracking. I know I get dragged all over the road and it can get really unstable over bumpy surfaces

Yeh bumpy and uneven surfaces and it can be ready to pull you all over the show.
I guess anytime you are giving it beans where it is likely to start to pull you will be very alert anyway and have a good grip of the steering wheel anyway, it's not like it does it when you are just tootling along in traffic!
