Afternoon,

I am thinking of buying a teg and wanted to see how bad the insurance would be for myself before pulling the trigger.

Im 34, but only past my test in 2010 at age of 30. Been a named driver on my wife's policy till last year when we bought a 2nd car and I got the policy to start earning some NCB so currently have 1 yr NCB.

The most powerful car i have driven so far is a 150bhp Ford so Greenlight did not want to know.

Adrian Flux just quoted me £856 and I have no idea if thats decent for my history.

what you think?

Cheers,

Rob

Doesn't seem that bad to me, you may be older but realistically are a pretty inexperienced driver and only have one years NCB.

I pay a similar amount at 23 with some mods declared and three years NCB. Although Adrian flux can usually be beaten in my experience so keep looking

Hi Rob
Unfortunately, you'd need a year's experience of driving it, or similar, on our scheme.

£856 is a good price with only 1yrs NCB and not having driven a performance based car before in your name.

Once you have owned the DC5 a year and have 2yrs NCB then our price should be in the low-mid £500's

Timmy- difference would be because your not 30. :) once you hit 25 - your insurance will drop :)

Not too bad fella! I'm a year younger and got a similar quote to that with Brentacre, give them a call if you haven't already! ;)

Timmy

We couldnt quote the OP as we require that drivers have owned and driven a performance car for the last 12 months to qualify for our specialise modifid scheme. Also you have 6yrs NCB which can make a big difference.

Thats the two reasons why your's is cheaper despite you being 23.

You can do the quote via our website at www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk and we can then email you back a price. With the Japanese Import vehicles they have to get calculated manually and then saved back to the website so if you complete an online quote tonight you would receive it back tommorrow.
