Had the car about 6 -7k now, so just ordered:

2 x 5l 5w-40 Silkolene Pro S (1 for service, 1 for top ups)
2 x Gearbox Oil.

Already have oil filter, my mate who works at local garage (Ford mostly) is going to be carrying out the service as it's fairly mundane stuff and I trust him (also the price is right ;))

Is there anything else I should get him to check or change? Not bothering with air filter as an AEM or similar should be on it's way soon.

The car had a full service done before I collected it from the importers as well.

If I've missed anything give me a slap and let me know  :D

Bear in mind, that when it comes round to selling time, a potential buyer may be put off that it's been done by "a mate" of yours.

If I was in the market, I'd want a service history by either Honda or a Tuner such as System R, TGM, etc. If it was anything else I'd walk away.

I know your trying to save money mate, but the Teg isn't just another Ford that's on the road, it's a serious performance car.

TGM is far too far away.

If I go to my local Honda garage I have no clue what's happening to my car all day.

I trust my friend completely and know he will take excellent care of the car. (Even it is a Ford garage).

I may well get my next service done down at TGM as I may have some cash together for a few additions by then anyway.

I understand what your saying Chris, but was your car service by a specialist before Imran had it? Quite a few of us have no idea who exactly serviced it in Japan.

I don't fully agree with Chris there - so long as I can see it's had a proper service including all the necessary checks and adjustments I dont care whether Honda did it or some indy place.

Valve clearances - they take the rocker cover off and adjust the shim clearances on the valve train. It's important every 25k, unless you want your valves poking out the engine. ;)

I have the history for mine from Japan.

I'd personally make the trip to TGM or the like tbh mate.

I used to take my Fiesta all the way to Birmingham to a specialist

I'd prefer mine to be done at a place that is well know.

Just had my car done a few weeks ago at Honda Blackpool, a major service for £138. My ST220 was £230 just for a standard service!

I'm going to do my 6 monthly oil changes etc.. myself, but get yearly services done at TGM, its niuce to keep the book stamped and upto date for sale time.
