Hey guys, My names tom im from civiinfo.net. I'm 23 looking to change my FN2 because I have a feeling the second the new civic comes out the value of my car is going to drop like a rock. I think I should get about 12k for my car its a 58plate with 15k on it. Now I was thinking about getting a teggy cause they look stunning ( I've been dribbling over the gallery).

Now I was looking to be able to buy the teggy and insure it for a year with the money from the sale. I have a few questions if people wouldn't mind helping me.

Is it worth the change? Im going to be swapping a 58 plate 15k miles car for a what 04 50k miles car?

Is the teggy likely to depreciate to DC2 levels any time soon?

Hows the servicing? can it be done at honda or is it specialist only?

Hows the MPG? Im currently getting 32 in my civic.

Can a low miler be had for 9k?

thanks, tom!

Yes.

I can't see it dropping to DC2 levels, but the more people lowering the price of their car for a quick sale will push the market down.

Honda can do servicing...it shares many parts with the Civic.

Same engine (almost) so expect the MPG to be the same.

Search in the FOR SALE section and on Pistonheads.

Search the forum, many of the questions you have asked are general ones and can be answered by searching.

Defintely. i have driven both and they couldnt be further apart, the DC5 is so much more poised and sharp compared to the FN2. you will be glad you changed (if you do). i paid just under 9k for a standard car with 38k miles. if you dont have the confidence to service it yourself, you can take it to honda. Do it.

all sounds good so far, mines going up for sale tonight so hopefully ill be joining you boys!! :)

Is it worth paying extra for the facelift? just looks like some new lights and bumpers? Seen a few possibilities in the forums that look nice.

Whats the most desired colour?

Thanks for the fast responses guys, seems a great forum! :)

Facelift brings minor changes to dials, minor suspension tweaks and of course updated (read: not as nice :p ) styling.

White is the most common - and best - colour, followed by blue (slighly different shades pre and post facelift). Black, red and silver follow.

I'd go for a CW pre-facelift, but it's all personal choice of course :)

Do it. The differences between FN2 and DC5 are night and day.

You don't pay extra for a teg because it's a facelift. You're normally paying more because they are newer and tend to have lower mileage.

Good news, just got an insurance quote from admiral multicar and it came out at £1003 with exhaust mod filter mod and suspension mod selected. Seems pretty reasonable for this type of car to me?

The amount of times I was referred to another insurance underwriter. "Hangon I'll pass you through to someone who can get it cheaper" - it would then go up several times. In the end I didn't get too bad a quote tbh.
