Front engine mount causing steering wheel vibration???

Hi all, So im still getting a steering wheel vibration at 70MPH / 120KPH, tires and wheels are new balancing is 100% spot on, tie rods are new, front compliance bushings and drop links are new, brakes appear to be fine no heat or pulsing, its fine up to 70mph then vibrates. My next move is new shafts and hub bearings up front but this is a costly job. My question is before do the shafts etc on my mot it had an advisory for "Front engine mount split through but not causing excessive movement", could this cause steering wheel vibration? other mounts look intact. Any other ideas before swapping out the shafts?.....

Thanks in advance.

My front mount was split for well over 12 months and never caused any steering wheel vibrations.

A few folk have thought their wheel balancing was 100% recently only to find out it wasn't. Try another balancing specialist before doing the expensive stuff?

I have mate, racing green a TVR specialist balanced them on a hunter machine and they are fine. Before that was Micheldever tyres and thy have always been good.

before doing shafts you could try the bearing of the half shaft on the drivers side, heard they sometimes fail and can cause vibration

I had to get new wheels and tyres balanced three times before all vibrations went away. I wouldn't rule out going again.

i think the dc5 is very sensitive to wheel balance took me a couple of tries at different places to get mine right.

Don't believe they are balanced unless you see the machine yourself.

Also, are what tyres are they, do they have the mounting dots? If so, they should be fitted as per instructions, as close as you can. So a Bridgestone, the coloured dot, is meant to go at the valve. This makes balancing easier.

I fitted RE070s, to refurbed Enkeis, and used a total of 45grams.... Between all 4 wheels.
If you have a load of weights, I'd remount the tyre.

This sounds exactly like the problem i had, and another teg locally to me. It was the half shaft bearing. Can be bought for around £50. Stopped the vibrations straight away. Hope this helps
