Garages in Cheshire

Hi Everyone.

Anyone know of any good/trustworthy garages in the cheshire area, as close to Nantwich as possible ideally. Currently up here training for work, then driving home to essex at the weekends, and need to get my valve clearences checked/set for piece of mind doing all these miles. I'd do them myself, just dont have the time, and it always seems to be raining.

Stevie at Grinspeed in Leyland.

Obviously isn't Cheshire but he's not far from Crewe, hour or so tops and very good with Honda's.

Lots of us off here get work done by him. He did my valve clearances last year.

You've also got TDI North in Warrington, again fairly close but I'd take it to Stevie.

Yes mate, really good work. He did that and my timing chain after people on here recommended him.

It's basically Stevie on his own but sometimes has a guy working with him.

His work is excellent, he's sound too really nice guy.

I think it was around £48 for the Valve clearance adjustment but his prices may have you changed, you're best emailing or calling him mate.

Thats great! really appreciate that. Yeah hopefully his prices havnt gone up too much, £50ish i feel is fair for valves. Wish i had the time to do it myself, but id rather pay to get it done than run it miles if theyre not within tolerance haha.

His prices are a tad more expensive than most places but he knows what he's doing and he offers a specialist and personal service that you don't always get from garages. He's an ex M Sport Rally team mechanic and has worked on Japanese cars for a while. We're lucky really as there's a lot of good independent Honda specialists in the UK. I'm sure the one CaLi mentioned above are also good.

If you can travel then Grinspeed. He is excellent.

If you need to go ABP then they were good lads. I haven't been to them for a long time but never heard any complaints.
If you can nip into Stoke then look at Hoddens, they used to do services and work on my DC5 and are excellent. You might struggle getting your car in though as they're very popular and very fairly priced.
