Gear box oil

Had a quick search but didn't find what I was looking for. I know a lot of people say the Honda MTF II is the only oil to use, but was told that Mobil 1 or Castrol 75w90 was also suitable? Can anyone please shed some light on this?

Honda MTF II is fine, i have used them before.

Not sure about the castrol and mobil.

I have switched to Amsoil Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid MTF recently and would recommend it.

Use MTF.

I personally use Honda MFT.

I was advised to use Honda MTF 111 in my DC5. Seems to give slightly better shifting when I changed it but don't know what was in it before and for how long. Seems ok but then I haven't tried anything else.
