Ayup all,
Well, the bottom end has gone Driving home from a friends recently, spirited but certainly not thrashing it and i started to hear a faint knock. Pulled over immediately and the dreaded bottom end knock was there. Guess I am just lucky it didn't seize and pop a piston.
Oil was fine, infact only changed a few months ago for helix no EML, no loss of pressure, nawt except the horrible knock over 3k. Fine under.
So took it to a local engine specialist that a friend recommended and its been stripped and sure as balls its the big ends. Which means its going to cost a dam site more than i have spare at the moment but hey that's life.
Now the guys at the garage are top blokes and dont mind me popping in when i pass to see how things are getting on. They were especially happy to get a copy of the rsx manual as being an import they were struggling for specs.
So at the minute the engine is completely stripped. Crank is with a local machine shop and i hope its not too bad. They tech who took it out said it didnt look bad at all but still had to be done and confirmed by a specialist. This all happened a few weeks ago now and as this is my daily its killing me. Not to mention its my baby!
So this is where the help comes in. Part numbers for all the gaskets needed to keep them on the tools and get the job done faster. I will be after all the gaskets and seals for pretty much a complete rebuild so if you have something knocking about you never got round to fitting gasket wise or similar let me know how much you want for it.
Gonna go have a beer and drown my sorrows.
Atleast when this is done it will be like new again. We are going to the extent of new rings and a polish as well as a skim just to keep it all new and tidy.
Just been down to pick up my rocker cover so i can keep my self content with stripping the already peeling pain off and polishing it up.
Cheers all
