It's coming on intermittently,whilst I'm driving.

Had a search,all 8 pages,with no sound results. ](*,)

Seems,no rhythem to it. Tried, braking hard, accelerating hard and didn't light up,just popped up every 3 or 4 mins.

Car is booked in at TGM in 2 weeks for some goodies, just wondering if it's safe to drive????

Oil is fine, pretty sure the pads and discs are good too.

My money's on it being an electrical glitch, not anything mechanical.

Have you checked the wiring to the switch (which IIRC is fitted near the lever)? Could be the switch itself earthing the cable when it shouldn't.

Annoying, yes, but nothing to worry about imho.

So I'm guessing, the handbrake "is on" light has nothing to do with engine management light!

Thats a relief =D>

Might pester tom on monday.

check around the handbrake itself, it could be just something shaking when your driving, you just have to remove the panel under the lever or in the back can't remember.
but if the light on the dash stops coming on the car will not start.

This may not be the case for the 'Teg, but is the low brake fluid warning light the same as the handbrake light? A few french cars I've owned were set up this way :)

Might be worth checking your brake fluid levels..
