Hey Guys I'm really hoping someone can help or has an idea

I have my heart set on a DC5 but its a 'mere trying to find insurance, I am 24 and have only been driving 7 months with no no claims.

I have rung around most of the numbers on the forum but I am either quoted £6000+ or told I have not been driving long enough

Please Help

I'd suggesting waiting.

No insurance company in their right mind is going to insure someone with only 7 months driving on a 'high risk' vehicle.

Not unless it's at a massive premium.

Patience is a virtue.

Lol it sucks man I know, but you've got no hope of insuring a DC5 with 7 months driving. I had to wait 4 years :( Knew I always wanted one but had to go 1.4 Escort > 1.8 Celica > 2.0 DC5

Hi Guys

I'm desperately hoping someone can help.

I passed my test november 2012. I'm 24, have and no no claims.

Unfortunately cannot get insurance for a teg dc5 pre facelift for under £2250. To afford this car I need it to be £1200/1300 most. I have tried Brentacre - they need a years driving before giving me a quote
Adrian flux need 2 - years as do sky, keith mitchell's and premier.

I know there is a list on here but it keeps giving me driver error :S

I really hope someone can help as I have no idea what to do next.
I thought you said you could get insured for £2250?

£2250 for a DC5 in your first year of driving - can't complain!

I paid £2000 for a 1.2 Corsa C when I was 17!

I would never pay over £1000 for insurance. Not getting a DC5 back in 2007, one of the reasons was insurance and a contributing factor to me buying a CTR instead.

My first insurance with the Civic was £980 ha ha @ 25yrs and 3 yrs NCB.

I would hold off and wait, get some time with another car first and come back to the DC5 in a year or two. Thats my advice.
Depends if you think over £2k is worth paying... :-/

Getting older and having more and more NCB works and only way really.
Now paying £572 for a 370Z and my lowest on the CW CTR I owned was £550.

Im expecting quotes on the DC5 to be around the £500 mark, maybe cheaper when I move due to the PC.

ive always thought companies who give large quotes dont expect people to pay and that they just dont want their business.
When I got my 370 i called for the 7 day insurance (before I picked it up) and they said no and offered a premium of £2000 to which I burst out laughing on the phone...

With Sky my premium went up £35 from the CTR to the 370 :D

I don't mean to be negative, but you've been driving for 7 months and you want to get a car that's over 200bhp... I'm surprised you're getting any quotes at all.

I'm 24, been driving for over 6 years before I got a DC5.

I'd get another car in the meantime until you can get insured on one, it'll make you appreciate the DC5 more when you get one... I had four bikes & two cars prior to the Teg. :)
