Help - is a DC 5 a coupe or hatchback

Can someone please look at thier log book and tell me if the DC5 is classified as a hatchback or coupe by the DVLA, my insurance company is confused.

I would have thought that by looking at it you would be able to tell but hey.
Its a coupe

Thanks, thats what I said, but they put the car down as a hatchback, and i need to get it registered.

I dont own one yet, but I swear its a hatchback.... mainly because the rear window lifts up with the boot.

*on looking though it comes up as both... :shock: :lol:

It's a coupe guys 100% if it says hatchback on the docs thats only because the dvla guys dont know anything

They class the car as a Coupe in Japan.

I also say coupe, sounds like the usual mystery with anything slightly out of the ordinary.

Its not a coupe as the rear window lifts, its a fastback or hatchback

It is actually BOTH a coupe AND a hatchback, so I'd say you can use either.

I would tend to go with coupe though because of the sloping rear roof and small rear seats. Coupe obviously sounds better too.

I hear that a coupe is classed as a coupe if the rear pillar/window is over a certain angle. As you can get 4 door coupes.

My civic coupe is essentially a 2 door saloon, but the rear window is more slanted that the 98 5 door civic saloon
