Need some help guys.

Was taking off my front bumper today and noticed this:

Is it ok to drive like this?

And do I have to buy an entire valve, or is it possible to get the plastic piece on its own?

Thanks,
Chris

That's the air assist valve. I'm pretty sure it sucks air from the filter via the snapped pipe and pumps it into the inlet on cold start - probably to warm the CAT up quicker/ some other emissions related reasons?

There's a thread on here somewhere (by w5cka i think!) that lists the length/ pitch of a bolt you can use to go in place of the valve and block it off - if you choose this option, make sure you block both pipes the air assist valve used. Failing that, you'll need to replace the valve - no doubt at a crazy cost.

So it shouldn't do any harm driving it like this?

From what I understand, the valve only operates at cold starts?

When mine was na I fitted teg m intake and when trying to fit hose on the end it snapped off. Had no effect what so ever. Don't worry about it,it only works when engine is cold to help with idle but it had zero effect on mine.

Ok thanks guys!

I'm new to the teg, so didn't realise it was such a common problem.
