My insurance renewal is coming up at the end of this month with admiral on my dc5. I'll have 2 years ncb and am 23 years old living in north-west london with a clean license. Admiral have always been good to me and I've never claimed from them or had any accidents but I think they've decided to screw me over now. They've quoted me £2200 for the 10 months bonus accelerator policy with my dc5. Im outraged and theres no way I can afford that. Last year with just 1 years ncb I managed to isnrue my fn2 with them for £800, thats less than half the price! If I don't find a reasonable quote I'm worried I'll have to part with the dc5 after only owning it around 4 months now :(. I tried to get a quote from greenlight insurance but their online form just doesn't seem to work properly.

All help and advice appreciated,

Thanks

I went from an FN2 to a DC5 with Admiral as well and my monthly payments almost tripled with them. I then got a quote from Greenlight which ended up cheaper than what I was paying for the FN2.

Greenlight usually call you back as soon as they get your online request. I would wait till tomorrow and see if they phone if not just give them a call, I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

Get on the phone. Internet quoting systems are for people that are, to put it bluntly, too lazy to pick up the phone and ring. You'll never get a quote online as good as one on the phone. Check the insurers that post on these forums (Greenlight and Prestige mainly). Car insurance is something that is worth spending time on sorting out, it can end up saving you hundreds of pounds for an hour or two's work.

Also try brokers such as Brentacre as they specialise in imports and modified cars.

I'm 23 and Admiral insure me on the DC5 for somewhere around the £800 iirc, but I'm on a 5 car multi-car policy which helps massively, and it's all area dependent too of course.

Admiral did the same with me ended up paying £127 per month!! I now pay £65 off per month with green light all mods declared e.c.t I'm also 23 with 4 year no claims.

Clearly Admiral aren't to fond of insuring imports lol

DC5's dont have an ABI code so have to be quoted manually if you have input your details online over the weekend you will hear today from one of our quote guys today.

If you Drop me a PM with your contact number i'll get in touch personally to run the price.

We are really competitive on DC5s so hopefully can organise you a great deal. There are some postcodes that we cant do but providing you dont fall outside our criteria we should be able to help.

Kind Regards
Neil
