Help With Valve Clearances....

Morning all I'm just curious regarding valve clearances,

Are the valve clearances suppose to be done every 25K ?

Just been looking through my service history and cant see any indication of them being done,
my car has just clocked 60,000 miles now and i think i need to get them done, the previous owner had the car from 25K and i cant find any evidence of him getting the clearances adjusted,

If there anything to look out for to know they need to be done ? noisy tappets etc ?

When my car's idling its really quiet but as soon as you rev between 3-6K (just before Vtec) its sounds like the tappets are real noisy, Is this a indication ?

If they do need to be done who would be the best company to get to do them ?

i'm from south wales and i'd rather travel a bit and have the work done by a good company than have someone local do it who isn't sure what there doing lol

TGM really as Honda will do it when the car is warm. For best results you need to get them done when it is stone cold. Left overnight preferably then worked on in the morning but without moving the car. If you can leave it a night somewhere that would be best. Shouldn't cost you a lot either. Circa £80.

Contact R Motion, they are Honda specialistts and located in usk. With the weather like this you could do it after 3 or 4 hours leaving the car outside facing the wind without too many problems.

Engine might be low on power, tappets may be quite noisy...

When the car's ticking over there dead quiet, you can hear them rather loud at about 2500rpm above, must need adjustment then

Getting mine done on monday not sure if they need it but like you the car is on 60,000 with no history of it ever being done!

Mines just hit 60K also with no history of having the valves done, let me know how you get on if you get yours done before me

Mine is on about 60k also, so will get them done when it's serviced soon.

Just an update:

Called in to R-Motion the other day, Got to say what a real nice chap was a great help

Got quoted on my value clearances: £60 which i thought was a good price,

Hoping to wait a few weeks now and get the clearances and a MTF3 gearbox oil change at the same time,
