high pitch tinny noise

Hi there
when i go into the high rev range about 8500 rpm and change gear, or soon as i let off the accerate pedel there is a high fast pitch tinny rattle noise for about a half a second, it semm like its coming somewhere either from the gearbox or engine area?
any ideas??

Probably one of your heatshields. Most likely the heatshield over the exhaust manifold. Open the bonnet and see if there is any play in it, or any cracks where it is bolted to the manifold.

i have the same noise, only appeared after its 1st visit to the track.
