any Honda dealer should be able to get the parts, and wont be any more expensive than steels

Surely you are taking them to the wrong garages that are unable to source parts?

Where are you based and what parts are you after?

Hi.

You're being discriminated against. Fortunately I'm not in your position. If I was I would be pressing for a breach of contract. You must have been subjected to unreasonable delay.

Hope things get moving soon. Have you tried Honest John Q&As.

Regards.

What kind of bodyshop cannot make a simple phone call to any Honda dealership to get the parts? Might be a 12 week wait for parts but should be able to get anything you need.

What parts is it you need thats proving so elusive? Pretty sure with the amount of these being broken for parts you could have even found 2nd hand parts?!

Take it to a decent bodyshop who will get parts from Honda.

It's a fact that it's your right to choose your repairer. Who are you insured with? You may need to report them to the financial ombudsman. Don't take crap off insurance companies. They'll try and bully you. The fact is your one of the honest people that actually bothers to pay their ridiculous premiums. Don't let any white collar jobs worth ruin your ownership experience. A few who have gone throughthis just get a cheap runner to tie them over and wait it out. May be wo rth speaking to a solicitor too. First hours consultation is usually free and it normally only takes a letter or two to put them in their place!

I completely agree with Davidpingu, when I was ran off the road in my first car due to third party I was told I had to use their bodyshop, their garage, their prices etc. I refused and said I wanted it done by Vauxhall as I knew it would be done properly, ended up quoting them a full price from Vauxhall until they agreed to send the quotes over and I recieved full payment and took to Vauxhall, they were quoting me something stupidly/suspiciously cheap to repair my curbed alloys when I was sandwiched against the curb (brand new TD Pros in white) and I also refused and said I wanted to use my trusted wheel refurb specialist, again ended up waiting it out but won in the end, pretty sure they would have done a hash job and ruin my wheel

Don't let them bully you, you have the right to choose who repairs your car if you weren't at fault

No being funny but Honda can get any OEM part, maybe a slight delay on orders but I've never had an issue!

Sorry but why are you letting idiots dictate what happens with your car? You weren't at fault, tell your insurance company they've to make contact with the party at faults insurance company to pay for a trailer to get your car to a body shop that will fix it. If that means mainland UK, so be it, that's what your insurance is for. You're entitled to have your car as it was before you were rear ended. Put your foot down with them.

Insurers can use whoever they want to source parts but it has to be approved by the underwriters. There are people on here who have even used 2nd hand panels to get quicker repairs done rather than wait for imported parts providing they are perfect condition. There isn't even a rule on using manufacturer parts as I've heard stories of people getting brand new coilovers in place of mashed OEM suspension because it still worked out cheaper for the insurance company. It should be common sense but it just depends how flexible they want to be.

If they are giving you a hard time though you should definitely name and shame them for the benefit of other members! Maybe some of the reps from the more favoured insurers can give you some guidance as to what you can do too?

Go to the insurance Ombudsman an make a formal complaint. The way you're being treated Is disgusting. I'm not going to repeat what has said but you need to get this sorted ASAP or its never gonna happen.
