Immobiliser and alarm on a dc5?

Just a quick question, does a preface 01 DC5-r have an immobiliser or any standard alarm or does it need to be fitted if so how hard/expensive are these?

they do not have an alarm as std, Im not sure on the current sva rules as they are or were a bit different for cars that were 10 years old,

previously they had to have a cat 2 alarm & immobiliser fitted to pass the sva test.

it is not a huge job, but expect to pay £250-£500 fitted depending on alarm quality and features

What about and immobiliser does that come as std with the car? Reason i ask is that im about to purchase a car and the owner isn't sure wether it has an immboiliser but he said it doesn't have an alarm.

Immobiliser was not fitted to Pre-facelift cars (2001-2004)
Facelift cars had a built in immobiliser.
