inner fender/wing/door plastics

Had a quick search but found nothing concrete.

After removing all front panels for paint, trying to get these plastics to sit correct has been a nightmare.

Are these pieces nessacery?

If yes has anyone got a picture of correct fitment?

Just to clarify its the plastics between the front of door closures and back of both wings.

They are just covers. Like an arch liner.
Running without them may lead to rust issues. Stuff like mud will sit in their place and stay damp.

They are a pita to fit back on! The little clips are so fiddly. I would reccomend you put them back in though. Finishes the door frame nicely plus it Stoo's are the crap being brought into the door area.
