Intermittent CEL light....

From time to time I get a CEL light flash up, its that quick I only notice it at night and its not very often.

I have KPRO if that makes any odds.

Also it logs no fault code :xconfused:

Does it flash when it detects knock? That's my only thought so far apart from the obvious loose connection blah blah.

Any ideas?

Im far from an expert Lee but I know there is a 'preference' on Kmanager which can illuminate the EML when knock is detected.
It happened on my old CTR now and again but that wasn't mapped 8-[ I was using one of the generic maps...
Who mapped your car? Maybe give them a ring :xconfused:

HTH - though it probably hasn't

Thanks Mark, I had a feeling it could be that :?

TDi North did it, and did a dam good job too so I don't get why it should start to knock.

I'll have to call them and get it back on the rollers :?

Is it doing it under load Lee?

Take it to John @ RASP mate, he can check the fuelling on his rollers. Saves you a trip over to warrington if the fuelling is spot on :xcheers:

Do a datalog and see if it's doing it often or not.

How clean is your air filter?

When was the last time your tappets were done?

Dodgy fuel recently?

GM is clean and oiled.

Fuel is V Power but it has a tank of 95 in it as I got caught out, but it happened well before this.

Valves were done at its last service.

Does K manager work on Vista???

OK.

It should work fine if you run it in compatibility mode.

It could be something simple like there being a small leak in your exhaust system or the exhaust itself being more carbonated. As I have found out before, a change of cat back makes a massive difference to knock detection (especially as the K20's is very sensitive).

OK thanks mate. I'm looking at importing a charger now, so It will probably end up back on the rollers anyhow. :)

Are you still having this problem?
If so, datalog it.

If you send me the calibration and datalog I'll have a look at it for you :)
