It's a group 46 out of 50 car. It comes with the territory.

I settled for an ep3 at 22, waited until I was 30 to get a dc5.

Think I was paying £1700 at 19 on my first dc5.. I'm on my 3rd dc5 now at 24 and I'm paying £80 per month with admiral.

Depends how deep your pockets are for this one really.

Previous cars? as some insurers want you in something similarly powered for 12 months before hand. (I was in a BMW 123d 204bhp diesel for 18 months prior which was enough)

I took the plunge finally at 22, and got insurance for under £1000, Daily driven, 10K miles a year, everything declared etc, etc.

As above though, your best bet might be to get an EP3 for 12 months+ first and then try again with Green light for example.

As the other guys have said above, settle for something else for 12 monthes.
I think when I spoke to green light/a-plan, they class a performance car as 150+bhp.
Prior to my dc5, I had a 2004 Celica 190 tsport and an rs Clio 182 - they take into account when giving you a quote.
