Hello!

So I joined the group over a year ago when I bought my fresh import DC5 but have never said hello or posted so here weeeee gooooo!

So after rejecting my brand new Seat Leon Cupra Sub8 6 months into ownership (The Ombudsman is great!) because the build quality was appalling I decided to buy a DC5 as I always wanted one.

Picked up my 53 plate car from SVA Imports (an interesting experience!)

Car came in with 65,000km on it and Spoon front calipers and looking very clean apart from a few scratches and stone chips which SVA sorted-ish.

So far I have...
Rebuilt the Spoon calipers and fitted brakes all round.
Fitted an Invidia N1 system then removed it 6 months later and replaced it with a Kakimoto Ragu I sourced from RHD Japan.
Found a reasonably priced parcel shelf(!)
Had an RPC Stage 1 clutch fitted by Matt @ Red-R Performance in Northampton including non dampened master and new slave with HEL hose
Last week I had my new Rota Torques delivered as well as a set of MeisterR's which I plan to fit this weekend.

I am a powertrain cooling specialist for Jaguar Land Rover and previously owned a VW/Audi tuning garage in Wiltshire as well as working for Norris Designs for a while so I look forward to getting more involved in any technical discussions on here!

Based near Northampton I am also keen to get involved with local meets / track days etc.

Welcome, lovely looking teg, in the best colour low mileage as well by the sounds of things! Already done a fair few good mods there, get some new side decals on it!

It was too loud for my liking and the fit at the rear box was not great...ending up melting the rear bumper!

I would not recommend it.

The Kakimoto system is a much more bearable noise and was a dream to fit.

Nope not me!

I had the same name but on Golf R32 forums.

Never had the pleasure of a DC2

Hi and welcome
I remember yourself from my VAG (TT) days many years ago!

Shame you're not local to south west anymore

Yeah we are hoping to head back to Bristol in a couple years but there are no automotive engineering jobs and house prices are crazy down south!

Great looking car

Get a build thread going (if you haven't already) so we can keep up to date with it :)
