K-Pro... PRC ECU... what ECU Type Number?

As above guys.

I have a PRC K-Pro unit. I will be uploading a map onto it and installing it at the weekend. Apparently on some of the maps (.kal files) you have to open them up in Windows Notes and change the "ECU Type =" value from the current number of lets say 3 to 2 - otherwise you can get problems.

I need to know whether the PRC is ECU type 1, 2 or 3. That's all.

My map has type 3 although RSX Type S maps have that also. I'd be interested to know if it should be any thing else.

From what I can see CTR is type 2 so don't use that. I think type 3 is fine for PRC just don't enable the vtec pressure switch or the fuel tank pressure sensor.

Yeah CTR is type 2 for definite. I am leaning towards type 3 for our DC5's. Anyone else got any info?

MAYBE... one way to look at it is...

PRA - ECU TYPE 1
PRB - ECU TYPE 2
PRC - ECU TYPE 3

???

Just having a stab in the dark there.

No I don't think it's as simple as that.

I think type 1 is the somthing else like the base rsx + other similar cars.

Type 2 is the PRA Euro CTR non wideband. Don't use.

Type 3 is at least PRB and probably PRC/PRD which all do the same basic functions. PRC and PRD just don't support all the emissions options etc.

Just go with 3 for now, perhaps posting the question on the Hondata site.
