I always thought you didn't need to, and then when calibting Adams old DC5 with him I suggested this TPS, but he said its for K100, Kpro uses only...ive since then always thought that. Hey ho, mixed info but it's good to know you can get it to work without. :)

Asfaik the oem style tps' are quite fragile and prone to breaking under vibrations (stiffer engine mounts etc) and these are a better design and less likely to fail.

Not doubting you but is that sales talk? There are a myriad of aftermarket parts which are supposed to be better but in reality OEM is the best you can get.
