kpro/k100 i think? maybe?

Basicly I need help working out if the car has a k100/Kpro etc


I used to have an ep3 which I spent silly amounts on and had Kpro on it

So I know what the car behaves like before and after Kpro



Bought a dc5 a few weeks ago and the seller didn't know much about the car because he bought it as is

Advertised as stainless exhaust and a Tegiwa filter

Actually has
Spoon manifold
Spoon n1
Gruppe m
Js racing strut brace and ETD
Fibreglass bonnet
Work emotion cr kai wheels


So some one has spent a decent amount of money on it

I think it has a k100 but can't work it out anyone got any suggestions? I will put it on a rolling road after pay day to see what the line looks like


It revs to 9000rpm
Vtec change over is just below 5000 lots of noisebut don't get a big wack of power till 5500
Static you can rev it to pretty much the limiter so there is no standard limiter at 5/6000 like it should but no launch control like a k100 usually has


Iv had a quick look under the dash at the ecu but haven't go round to taking it out to have a good look


Anyone have any ideas?

Could also be a Mugen, but agree with you that it doesn't sound like OEM behaviour.

Does sound like a different ECU, the VTEC Crossover and Rev limit being the main give aways.

Could be Mugen/Spoon/J's ECU or could be K-Pro/K100.

Only way to tell will be to remove the ECU.

I'm servicing it playing with it tomorrow so I will remove the ecu

Doesn't look to be anything written on it tho

Would there be anything inside if I opened it up?


I tend to stay away from the whole ecu and mapping side of modifying cars and leave it to people who know what there doing haha

Well if it were a KPro it would have a USB port on it so that's one thing to look out for. I'm pretty certain the Spoon and Mugen ECUs came with their own cover?

Dont you just hate it when a car isn't how it was advertised!!









Couldn't wait till tomoz so got some old huge grips I had lay at home and started to drop the ecu out couldn't get the grips into the back bolt but iv seen enough

Just a bit haha

All the mods it has already I would of bought soon

Means I can buy semi slicks and geo set up soon

Anyone have an idea of what power it should make with these mods?

My civic made 230 with hks exhaust Mugen mani and a gruppe m at tdi

Do the DC5s make much more with the cams and inlet being a tad better?

It would be about 230-235, add an rbc and you will be looking 240-245, probably a lot more if you go to tdi north as they have very generous rollers lol

My dc5 with injen,rbc dc sports manifold and 2.5" trust exhaust made 229bhp at eurospec and 238.5 with 3" exhaust. Now with 2.5" kakimoto regu06r and teg m probably around 233-235 at a guess ( need map tweak)
