thank god im only an hour away from brosport lol
I feel a little sick after totting up the quote  haha.

It might be worth the trip up to brosport if that's the cost. Would work out cheaper!

Woah! Ouch...that does seem a little excessive.

Isn't FL Performance down your way?

Never used them myself and only really found out about them recently but everything I've heard is good, can't find a website or anything though.

I've only recently heard of them myself through a forum member who had a custom exhaust made by them.

I could possible check them out. They are in London somewhere lol

I personally wouldn't user eurospec either, I got them to fit an RBC and exhaust manifold to my car last year when I got it mapped. Not only did it cost the earth, but they fitted the RBC incorrectly which meant I had problems with stretched wiring, damaged electrical plug and AC pipe. They did in the end refund me some of the labour costs but it still shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I am half tempted get my mechanic to fit most of the parts, as it is simply an off-on job and then get TGM to do the FRSU.

I find TGM very poor with their communication, however I get that they are busy etc. I will be there Saturday anyway so will ask Tom to give me a quote in person.

I called TGM beginning of last week to order some braided lines. Guy was nice enough, took my card details and says he'll have to get some lines made up as they're out of stock but should have some sent to me by the end of the week which is ideal as it's booked in this Friday to have new pads fitted.

Noticed that the money has yet to come out of my account so sent them a message via their site, no answer. Called them two days ago and the girl on the phone says the boss has totally forgot about it. Payment has now come out my account but I'm having to wait for them to arrive and also it's highly likely I'm going to have to book my car in with the garage next week instead of this week as the parts won't have arrived in time. Not ideal as I'm on lates next week so it's hard to get the car. Communication from them both internally and externally could be better but I do acknowledge that they're very busy.

I called TGM this morning they charge £66 inc VAT an hour. So I'm assuming it would take around 7-8hrs. So somewhere between £462 to £528 to fit everything.

Brosport are amazing. Dave is a top man. Also heard great things about Stevie at Grinstead.

I think most people who are familiar with TGM would all agree they can be hard to get hold of. Another reason aside from being very busy is that every man and their dog calls up wanting to speak to Tom for advice, not to book their car in or buy parts - this really takes the biscuit in my view, and takes up a lot of his time. On top of this, although Tom has a team of mechanics who are very competent, he still gets heavily involved in a lot of the work, hence why they have such a good, consistent reputation for their work. There aren't a lot of garages (aside from one man bands) where the top mechanic (who happens to be the owner in TGM's case) there works on practically all the cars. No one can top Tom for his honesty and applied knowledge of Hondas, especially DC5's. I'm not excusing the communications difficulties, but on the days when the receptionists are not in the office, Tom places much more emphasis on concentrating on mechanical work rather than picking up the phone. If he didn't, he would be in the office for most of the day; he has no idea whether the person on the phone is a customer or just someone phoning for advice. I know which of the two I would prefer he'd do as a customer.

Just to re-iterate, I'm not excusing the sub par communications, but just putting some context around it. For those who have had trouble getting in contact, yes it definitely is not what should be expected, but it's definitely worth it when you do.

On a side note, Crazylegs - TGM's braided lines are made by Mocal under TGM's specifications, hence why they are made to order if he has none in stock. you made a great choice buddy. :xrockout:

Just collected them from the delivery office this morning! :) Had a message from Royal Mail left advising of a package that needed collecting so wasn't expecting it to be the lines especially one day after speaking to them.

They look very well made and to be fair to TGM, after chatting with them Monday they were sent out that day and were delivered to my address yesterday albeit I wasn't in. That is pretty impressive so I can't fault them in that regard.

They will be getting fitted Friday along with my Hawk HP+ pads and some Motul RBF600 fluid, can't wait to see the difference! Take it their lines are good then, have heard good things about them and that they're better than HEL braided hoses.

I had exactly the same issues, fitted RBC and exhaust manifold. The loom to theIACV was so tight it's a miracle it didn't snap. I could have played a few chords on it!

I did not notice it until investigating why the car was hunting so badly. I didn't bother complaining, I assumed they'd want me to bring it back in, which would mean a day off work and by the time I'd done that I was better off getting a trusted local auto electrician to sort the problem.
Lesson learnt

This is my preferred route, trusted local mechanic to bolt on the parts, Tdi North to fo the frsu. Just wish i had more time to have a crack at fitting the bushes and bits myself. I'm a proper tight arse on paying other people to do what i know i could do myself given the time! Ha

I think everyone would love to save money. i don't have the time to have a crack at fitting bits myself and my only worry is my DC5 is my daily, so if I get it fitted by my mechanic..I don't want to leave it too long with a dodgey geometry set up if I have to wait for a frsu from TGM. Might be a 100quid more but at least I know I'll get it done in one weekend and from someone who is a specialist. I might run it past my mechanic once I get all the part delivered

Take it to Grinspeed mate for the geometry. Mike Williams off here gets his done there as have a few others and he will set it up well for you chief.

A little update for those who are interested. I went to TGM today to get some other bits done to my car and Tom said it would take 5-6 hours to carry out all that work inc FRSU. So we're looking at around £396 inc vat (£66 x 6hours) max for everything. :)
