It was due to the supercharger as it makes the exhaust note louder than a Turbo or N/A car and the exhaust at the time was a RM01A. Solid fab sounded quieter high up the rev range so I reckon it might have been fine as I went for the super silent version.

Yes you can bypass it by just pressing the foot brake down and revving it at the same time. I do it all the time.

Do all DC5's have this as whilst at Brands the other week (not on track) but with Mark I decided to get a sound test and mine wouldn't rev past 4-4.5K (cant remember which) on static. I believed this was just due to vtec not operating when the engine is not under load and nothing to do with Launch control and so on?
