Got my insurance with Clegg Gifford and couldn't fault them for helpfulness, i was advised they specialised in Jap imports so gave them a go and so glad I did.

Insurance was less than £500 which included free european breakdown cover, unlimited windscreen, free courtesy car, protect no claims, legal assistance and only £250 excess. I do have full no claims though.

There may be other reputable insurance brokers on here that do just as good deals !

Strange, I called them today and they advised me they didn't insure imports and suggested Adrian Flux!

firstly make sure they havent insured you as a dc2 mate. If it is genuine its a great deal and i will be calling them when my renewal happens as im 26 with 7 years no claims, good area and pay £770.

Very strange viper1984, Not sure which office you tried but I tried the Guernsey branch first and they were really helpful and no issues in getting a cost, then realised that they had an office in Jersey where I live and contacted that office and there were no issues at all. I specificly asked if they insured Jap Imports and they did ???

Hi Jonnyteg, I can confirm this is insured as a DC5, I was very happy when they quoted me cause I had read some horror stories on here from fellow teg owners !

Hi Olly, It's only rude if you ask a girl there age isn't it ! I'm 36 with over 10 years NCB which is probably why its cheap, I live in one of the Channel Islands with a top speed of 40 mph which also may assist with the cost being low. Hope you manage to find a cheaper quote !

Whoops sorry ha ha, I can see why its low now. That's a shame about the 40mph limit, i'll keep searching. Thanks for the info

Lol, don't get grumpy dude. At the end of the day it might be cheap but they can't go over 40mph. I'd hope to think when I'm 36 and have over 10 years NCB then my insurance will be the same if not cheaper touch wood. I don't think there is much of a difference with Chester living in the channel islands compared to over here

Hi Kamzo, Apologies if you felt my post was pointless, certainly not the impression I wanted to give to users of this forum and I hope that not everyone feels this way. I am aware that there are other reputable insurance companies that post on here but it was my understanding that this is an information sharing forum and was aware that the company I used also insure cars in the UK and thought it was worth sharing as as an alternative for people to try.

Just had mine through from Sky £882! Im 27 years old 9years NCB live in Exeter (To all you northeners thats the southwest, lol!) But i have an IN10 endorsement (driving my fiance's car whilst i thought i was 3rd party insured) Managed to whittle them down to £827 but rang Adrian Flux and got a quote for £780 eventually. Still not happy but will see what i can do.
