Well I went for some Spoon progressives in the end. Got all the work done at Steve Hill Motor sport near Aylesbury - so just up the road for me. Took it in this morning, work was done by lunchtime.

Car looks 8). Turn in is much quicker - more like the DC2 now, the ride feels pretty similar to stock and it's all been nicely aligned! Only 1 degree difference in camber as well. Just need to give it a good seeing to on the track!

Oh, and the springs are the right way up too :D

Nice one mate xthumbup

You wont have that ar5e end squirm under braking at the next trackday

How do you find the normal ride?

Normal ride feels about the same. Haven't really pushed it yet, just a quick "play" on the way back to work.

I guess it was more to do with buying what I knew. I did consider the Tanabes, but a number of things put me off... lowering more than the spoons meant more negative camber, having to cut the bump stops and unknown track performance.

Maybe I'll change to the Tanabes in the future... if they're good. Perhaps I should have a go in your car sometime

suppose one of the main 'problems' is that were not running about in vauxhalls or i could have just stuck the shocks/springs in myself and goen to kwikfit for tracking when i got round to it!

one of the 'key'factors in installing these is getting the car professionally tracked afterwards

Yes pretty much!

Or take it to your local tuner.

I won't take it to Kwickfit as they tend to use cheaper equipment and if they drop them they don't bother getting them realigned for a while.

I would take it to garage that specialise in laser alignment.

A guy at work got his done @ kwickfit when he had two tyres put on and it was actually worse afterwards.

that would be a good idea, might get mine booked on, could you do the fast road setup on standard springs and shocks?
