new here,any importing tips?!?!

hi just joined the forum today after looking at importing myself a DC5!!
i currently own a DC2 but really really want to import a white DC5!

was wondering if anyone had tips,advice or things i should look out for.
i've been on www.japanusedcar.net and i fancy getting one from there

i did it all myself, are you sure you want to go down that route?
have you done anything like this before?
sorry, need to ask, but you will need cash and loads of it standing by, plus all the waiting,
not wishing to put you off but it is not easy, i spent probably 5 months on research and getting it sorted in my head, if it was the right way to go, i was lucky i got a good car, but there are some horrors out there.

I agree with duncs. If you want to go alone good luck because you are very brave.

If i was (obviously im not though) i would go through an import compnay:
- see what you are getting
- SVA done for you
- registration done for you etc....
- fall back if anything goes wrong
- if the car arrives in the condition you werent expecting no purchase etc etc

Hi,

I went through www.neweraimports.com

They were absolutely brilliant. Get everything sorted for you and give you one price and thats it. They will find any car you want. Wether the DC5 you want is standard or hunt the markets and find one with light mods/ high mods. They even reject cars if it was a smokers car.

I got a grade 5 2001 DC5 from them. If you dont know what grade 5 is, its the best quality. It then goes down to 4.5, 4 and so on I believe. I am sure theres something in here about it if you hit the search button.
