Hi guys, i m sure a few guys here would have wonder, what the new ITR should be/have..
IF it ever happen...

My suggestion are 1. FR layout (rear wheel drive) =D>
2. Turbo, approx 280-300bhp standard (due to the new EU emmision rules)
3. New headlight FN2 ish
can't think anymore yet...

please carry on :)

It'd be interesting to see if Honda will embrace this new wave of turbo charging as there's only ever been a handful of cars they've had turbo's on in the past. Personally if it had a turbo that'd be me out straight away

I'd quite like to see a smaller engine say a 1.6 with a supercharger, aslong as it still rev's like a daemon though  however i think thats quite unlikely to happen

Ok list of what i'd like/think might happen:
1. Most likely i think is a normal engine with some hybrid tech along side, ala the new CR-Z
2. Perhaps having the engine drive the front wheels with the electric motor the back, gives you good traction off the line etc etc - also with this you don't lose as much interior space as traditional RWD/4WD transmission tunnels though the car.
3. just make it pretty

I'd like rear wheel drive with the 3.2(6) from the NSX. Looks wise just go back to Pre Face lift and job done lol.

Haha perhaps i should have re-phrased, what i really WANT is a 3.0+ liter V6 with vtec that revs to 9k rpm, RWD and looks to match

I was just pointing out what i think is more than likely going to happen whether we like it or not :?

Personally i hope they keep it at 2litre N/A. Try squeeze 250bhp out of it. I don't want the car to be high maintenance. I love the balance that they have achieved now...

I hope they come up with a worthy replacement for the k20a. needs to rev like the k20... maybe up to 9.5k would be fun :D.

RWD would be the way to go, but would that make it a completely different beast? Would it take away from the integraness of it all.

Unfortunately Honda have gone all green on us, they pulled out of formula one, scrapped the NSX project, finished the S2000 l and Integra line up and are now capitalising on past successful brand names like the CRX, it wont be long before they use the integra brand to power some eco rubbish car that runs on penguin poo or something.

no turbo on the the Honda, then it's not a honda!! :)
they should get some more power out of NA tuning...or last resort a supercharger

yes, 2.0L N/A is a good idea with low maintainance, but the downside is surely get the £400+ road tax (v.high emision)and is too much effort and expensive to get more power out of it ,unlike the Subaru/audi guys( the turbos), plug in-remap...don't even need to buy any"hondater"

Don't get me wrong, i love the V-tec because i ve brought up with 2 strokes yes,hit the power band... :xyes:

BTW. NSX is not dead yet, because the HS10 has started racing @super GT in japan, and according to the REG. they have to make it production sooner or later..but i believe it'll be another LFA-ish price tag

I m glad someone do like the FR layout, i also suggest:- Front engine+gearbox at rear (perfect balance):xyes:
with No ECO Bullsxxt

Anyway keep going lads =D>

As i understand it, they won't have to make a production version of the HSV. The JGTC engine layout rules were changed and Honda were allowed to use the car as a result, even with no homologation cars, as the car is technically "production ready".

tax before 2009 works different here in ireland... 2.0 litre is €614 a year road tax... as opposed to a 3.0 which would be €1350 in road tax...

the new cars are judged on emissions i think...

yeah that would make sense :)
but really, it's the best option...right??
more torque in the lower rpms, or till 5000 rpm electric and then right away VTEC :) till 10.000 rpm

I can imagine it's going to be very hard for them to keep high RPM engines and keep emissions low enough, toyota had to ditch their VVTL-i engines because of this (then again Toyota don't make anything remotely interesting in the mainstream now...)

Also the new Honda CRZ only revs to something stupid like 6k :( :( may aswell have a diesel if thats all the revs you get!

But hopefully Honda will do us proud again... one day... perhaps...

maybe four wheel drive, rear wheels ran by the petrol engine and the front wheels ran by the electric motor to kick in when you need more grip :-k
but all this would gain weight so there'll be no point

Hi jay82, yes u r right, 4wd hybrid.. that remind me of the report about the new porsche GT3 hybrid race car...the concept sounds excellent until the weight and the cost concern, we ll see how well/bad that GT3 unfold in the race, one day

Hi all,
C'mon l must emit that, a small turbo probably the best way to go, just take a look on the BMW's ,they are the N/A specialist e.g.V8,V10 M5, the M3's...but the next gen M series are already plannned- all gonna be turbo, i think Honda will be the same one day, lets hope thats gonna be the new integra-may be called DC9??? with FR layout :xyes:

i also heard, the next gen. F1 engine will be 1.6 or 2.0?? TURBO ,humm i think that give us all enough indication what the future gonna be :-k

yeah mate, as i heard in 2012 F1 engines will be 2.0 TURBO instead of 3.2L NA we have now.
