Hiya guys was wondering if any of you can help me.
I started up my car the other day and it started but suddenly cut out.
I went to start it again and it started fine and the engine management light came on.
I drove it for a bit and the light went off.
I took it to get a diagnostic on it and the fault code found was P0341 (CMP sensor “A” and CKP sensor incorrect phase detected.

Any idea what has caused this and how serious it is? Any parts need changing?
Thanks in advance

Phase gap usually means the VTC is out of position which is caused by a stretched timing chain.

Thank you. So really it needs a new chain?

I would check how far off the chain is from the timing marks just to be sure. But when there's a 'phase gap' it means that VTC is seeing too much of a gap on the chain so it confuses it. Most likely a new chain mate.
