Anybody have any links to DC5 in gear split times and 1/4 mile times? Wanting to compare them to Evo 8 FQ300? Cheers!

performance

Hey guys.... i totally love the dc5 teg's .. the look is sexual!

saving up for one and have to wait 2 years till i can get insurance then im getting one!!!!

but my worry is the power/speed.. just wen looking at the speed/gears, my current car is a 2 litre xsara vts coupe

in 1st gear ( flooring it feels like a rocket) 41mph
2nd gear ( changin from 1st to second throws me back in my seat) 61mph
3rd gear 91mph
4th not done anymore than 115
5th..... my guage goes to 150, so im assuming ill get that out of it as some1 i know has the same model and he got 155 out of his

Im worried about going out and getting a dc5 and then being dissapointed by the performance .... although my vts is a little dodgey at high speeds around corners and when letting it rip around them

I know that some ppl will tell me to look at getting a turbo car like an evo or subaru ... but i think the teg is in a class of its own...
anyways any views ....

Get a Turbo if you want to be kicked into the back of your seat. Evo's and Sti's are generally quicker without a muchos experienced driver behind the wheel. The 'Teg is a small(ish) displacement high reving TRACK car.

For me having a Type R is about driving, driving driving! The fact, it's pretty quick is a nice bonus. Go test drive any Type R and you'll see what I mean. It's raw and focused.

Turbo AWD cars like the Evo and Sti are MUCH MUCH easier to drive. But not as rewarding. Different cars mate. Depends on what you want.

Besides, I'd like to see a Sti/Evo get 600km's to 50L

feels like a rocket? whatever..

VTS coupes are 180BHP and 147 per tonne as stock.

DC5 are 215BHP and 176 per tonne as stock...ish.

while lower gears your car will keep up, higher gears the DC5 will leave it. With the clock going to 180mph and people getting 175 out of them the top end power is far higher.

engine is in a different leauge..on paper dosent do DC5 justice.

as for handling well..u know the rest.

good luck with your search!

if u sat in it with me ... u would feel the rockect effect lol ... mines is putting out about 200 bhp , stock is 167. Ithink it feels faster coz its pretty low aswell

my first car was a 1995 1.6 primera sri, so that might be why it feels like a rocket:p

im 18 jus now so i need to wait 3 years before anyone will quote withme on a policy for a teg

... out of interest , dc5 or dc2 ?? i love the dc5's
