Petrol Gauge stopped working

Took the teg for a good blast on Sunday and on the way home my petrol gauge just suddenly dropped from about 1/2 full to 0 with the reserve light on. Scared the life out of me.

Topped up the tank (only £30 went in) and checked for any leaks and thank god there isn't any.

So what would be the most likely cause of the problem? Fuel sender unit or would it be dashboard related?

The sender is attached to the pump, you get to it by lifting the rear bench and then through a sealed cover which accesses the fuel tank.

Get it checked at your earliest opportunity, many years back and my gauge was being erratic for a while, then died like yours... few weeks later car cut out while driving, pump had completely collapsed...

Cheers for the reply mate. The gauge started working again the day after and seems to be alright now.

I havent had any problems with the gauge before so im hoping it was just a one off as it was the first time the tegs been driven hard for a while.

But I'll get it checked out just to be certain
