One of the guys has suggested a scotch pad and autosol. There might be some more tips as time goes by.

Did you use the autoglym engine/machine cleaner in the end bud? I've always been reluctant on "washing" an engine bay..... Should I be worried?
Here's mine so far......

Hi.

Yes I used the Autoglym machine cleaner. I'm glad I took the earlier advice as it was as good if not better than all the others, used before. I didn't power wash the engine. I used a pressurised plant feeder and gently did the metal and plastic bits, avoiding the electrical connectors.

I'm going to repeat the process a couple more times, see if I can improve on the finish.
