power steering trouble. help!!!

hi guys recently the steering on my dc5 has been working up. it goes from really light and smooth to really heavy and stiff and there is a loud horrid sound coming from the engine bay. iv been told that there is air inside the power steering pump and that all i have to do is jack the car up and turn from lock to lock while slowly adding power steering fluid. well iv done that and there is still a noise (although not as loud) and the steering is still not smooth. is there something else i can do or do i need a new pump?

Why ot drain it completely and start over, that way you know you'll be getting all the air out?

already done that but still doesnt wrk. cld anybody shed some light on the subject?

it could be many things best of taking it to a specialist, like TGM, Tdi north etc.
