Hi all.

Pre MOT I was having a problem with the offside low beam headlight. Now solved and reported elsewhere on the forum.

I decided to start with a bulb and take it from there. As I was visiting the Scarborough area I called at Marshall Honda and priced a D2R bulb. I was given a price £106 and told that it was best to replace both.

I went over the road to Scarborough Motor Factors and bought a Lucas made one for £36.

My mechanic mate discovered the problem was neither the bulb or the ballast and that some bodged wiring was the problem.

Just highlighting (No Pun) the disparity in prices for similar items. As we know its not only bulbs.

Regards.

I had the same issue, swapped my hids for leds and then had the same issue.

Wiggled the loom and found a break. Resoldered and its been fine ever since

They are instant on and off, look the same color as hids and seem as bright.
They dont seem to throw the light as far as hids but havnt really been an issue driving.
