Private registration

Got an opportunity to buy a cheap private reg from a friend.

My questions are:

It's a prefix style whatever that is so can it be transferred onto my 04 plate dc5 ?

The reg is something like A3 RSX. The letter and number aren't correct but it does have 5 digits in total, although it's a dc5 and an RSX is kind of more USDM but is it a worthy plate ?

Thoughts are welcomed

Prefix style is fine on an 04 plate. You can't make the car look newer with a more recent plate.

I've seen a few RSX plates on DC5's, so I wouldn't worry about that. Go for it.

Helps hide the age of the car a little better I suppose, mine had my private plate on it throughout my ownership.

I would have it all on one line, no spaces - A3RSX.

Luckily it's not A3, just waiting for him to get back to me and I'll find out what it is as it's on retention or summat

I regularly get folk asking if my plate is private, being yxxx 0xx and I love telling them no, it really is 16 years old!
