Hey,
I've just ordered a new exhaust manifold which I should recieve early next week.
My question is, will I need any new gaskets? Or are the ones currently fitted re-usable?
Also, do the nuts come undone ok or should I be prepared for some seized nuts/snapping studs?
(Im assuming they're studs/nuts)
As you can understand I just want to be prepared and not be stuck and car-less while I order bits #-o

Cheers guys
Mark

Just keep spraying them with pit stop, easy out, wd40 (what ever you have got)etc.. and they should come out no problem off the head.
I snapped one on the cat-mid pipe but thats because i didn't lube them ones up. No biggie just replace them all anyway.
If i remember correctly, the manifold heat shield is connected to the manifold and they were a bastard to get out. I think i snapped a couple of them.
Gaskets - It all depends how bad your old ones are. You can re-use them if they look ok.

Another problem is rather than snapping the bolts you can knack the threads (technical term!!) end result is that the nut won't screw back on and you can guarantee the bolt will be solid in the head and an absolute pig to get out!!

mark if you don't fancy it yourself, take it to ant at indigo gt (cardiff area, merthyr? maybe) he is a good evo tuner and will have the kit to remove and refit the mani properly, if you fancy that let me know and i will have a word with him.

Thanks for your responses guys. Basically in most cases the gasket (mani to head) is re-usable then, yes?

C&S - Thanks for the offer mate. I know it could be done on the drive but I dont think its worth the hassle. However I've built a good relationship at my local garage so I'll be taking it there.
I've heard of Indigo gt though, there's a yellow Evo 9 (I think it is) nearby with their sticker on the back.. Heard it was remapped there. Did they work on your Teg at all? I take it they have no Kpro knowledge/experience??

Cheers
