Hi, I would like to know what would be the price/ value of a 2003/2004 Black/ Silver DC5 with around 40k on the clock. (usual full service history and auction grade 4 or above, standard, c pack etc) I got quoted £12k from a dealer. is this about right?

direct import yes, id probably say probably cheaper on the 2nd hand market but it depends how bothered on year you are.

Prices are all over the place it depends on condition and age and mileage.
Best bet is to see what similar cars are selling for.

This sounds promising!!! (for a potential buyer like me!!! :D ) so hopefully I should be able to get the £12k figure down to £10k circa

We can mate, but we pay 9-10k sterling then we have to pay for the VRT and change it onto Irish plates. Thats another 5-6000 euro.

So we are still looking at 20000 euro.

Me too but you've got to realise that the entire car market's going at the same rate. Our cars aren't doing too bad in the grand scheme of things, there are cars out there that have suffered much bigger depreciations.
