I have found a company who make race alternators but they said they are 50 amp output only? Does anyone know what amp output the OEM alternator is? and weather or not this would be ok for my car?

Honda ECUs have controlled the charge rates of the alternators in Honda cars for years already. If you don't use all the accessories and stereo etc. the power loss in minimam, under 1hp. The only benefit from a race alternator is the weight saving.

i beleive a suitably sized race alternator is not that much lighter anyway.

I used to have problems with std ford alternators that were designed for max 6K rev limit on some of our built engines that were doing 8k rpm, with bearings overheating which we eventually solved by underdriving the alt (using a bigger pulley), the std honda alternator of course is designed to cope with the high rpm.

I don't know of any race dc5's here with non std alternators.
