Hi!
Hope someone can help. Does anyone run the 'Racing' DC5 ITR as a road car?
I currently run an EP3, but, for a supposed type-R, there's a lot of sound insulation and excess weight. I fancied stripping most of the interior out and then thought I could save myself the bother and buy a racing itr. The other upside to this is that it would be a JDM model and aftermarket parts are designed for the JDM in most cases. So, does anyone run one? It wouldn't be my only car but would get around 8-10k miles a year. :?:

Hi m8,

Very sorry to say, that you can not make the 'racing DC5' a road car. Jevo tried but it would not pass the SVA tests  and to do so would have cost a lot of money

As Mike says... its not impossible to get a Racing DC5 through the SVA but it will cost more than buying a second hand one and stripping the stuff out... plus that way you get ABS and an LSD and a heater that will work !!!

You need to add to a Racing DC5 the following...

Heater matrix or something to blow consistent hot air on front window
Rear wiring loom for rear lights
Rear fog light
Roof lining
Airbag or change the switches
A-pillar trim

and thats just the start....
