Rear Lower Control Arms

Hey

As above - Purely a "Bling" type mod? Thinking of changing my rear anti roll bar and considering doing the LCA's at the same time. Anyone done this mod and noticed a difference? Only noteable on a track or barely at all?

Cheers

I would imagine it's only for bling, unless your current bushes on the LCAs are worn

some old info for you from another forum debate
Hi all.

To be brutally honest, to spend the type of money on our race LCA's on
your daily driver, is really not too practical, unless you are trying to
squeeze every ounce of performance out of your car.

We designed our arms over 3-1/2 years ago, specifically for racecars.
Our goal was to produce an arm that was lighter, stronger, and stiffer
than stock, while not compromising the handling characteristics of our
racecar. Our arms were run on our track cars and we had no plans for
marketing them until we received requests from fellow racers.

Every part of our race LCA's has been meticulously designed to optimize
the suspension geometry, structure, weight, and rigidity of the
materials used. We ran extensive computer simulations on the designs
even before the first prototype was made, and we went through several
revisions and prototypes. We even the sway bar
mount points were moved outboard to compensate for handling differences
due the lower unsprung weight (stock arms weigh 4.4 lbs each side, our
arms weigh 2.2lbs per side - all weights measured without bushings).

The result of all this hard work was a gain in overall stability and
improved handling, that's why more racers use F7 arms than any other
brand. Our arms are currently being used on SCCA Solo/Solo2 cars, Pro
Rally, NASA Honda Challenge cars, to name just a few. If you're still
not convinced, talk to the racers who have our arms (there's a few out
here on H-T) - they will probably tell you what they think.

Each and every prototype was tested for over 2 years on and off road, on
track and rally cars and we finally released the final version for sale
to the public in late 2003.

As mentioned above, our arms are designed for racers, and that makes up
the largest part of our market. Every component on our arm has been
designed in-house and thoroughly tested. Each arm is carved out of a
solid piece of cold-drawn certified airframe-grade 7075 billet aluminum
(as opposed to forged). Yes, our arms do cost more, but that's the cost
of R&D, better materials, precision machining, and on top of it all,
we warranty our arms AND every component on our arm -- this includes
our graphite impregnated bushings.

Anyway, my point is this:

If you don't race your car often enough, or drive it hard enough, it's
hard to justify an item like our race LCA's. However, if you're a racer
and you want to cut out that extra 0.5sec/lap, give us a shout. We'd
love to hear from you!

Regards
-A

It's an amazing handling mod. I immediately felt the difference when mine were changed  .

Use the search function and you will find plenty of evidence confirming this.

Would be a bit of an upgrade if your current bush is worn. But only an upgrade if going to an arm with a decent bush in it.
Hardrace bushes get a good review they will be the arms I go for if/when I replace mine. Re sprint does them cheap on here for the full arm with hardened bush in them.

Thanks Steve for the recommendation :)

If you don't like Hardrace, we also have D2 and Buddyclub :)

Price for hardrace? Do they come in blue too?
Only colour they do come in I believe. Reviews of hardrace bushes can be found on ek9 and dc2 forums. Haven't seen them used much on here yet.
