Rear Number Plate bulb

Can you change the bulb without removing the bumper?
Had the plate off yesterday but can't find a way in.

I have never removed the back bumper but yes i remember to have changed the light bulb. So it is doable, you need to remove the plastic that is attached

The clear plastic cover is that mate?
I thought the bulb was going to be attached to the end of the cable that enters the unit (thats how it was in my previous car), however found that was just the power connector!

Blunt knife on the side of the cover and it should pop out

When you put it back in make sure its on tight. Mine fell off and had to buy a new one.

Got it off, gave the clear lens a good clean with plast-x as it was pretty cloudy. Clear as hell now. Went to fit a t10 led but bulbs too long! Had to order one that's sub 25mm! The unit on mine seems to 'clip' on so hopefully should be secure cheers mate!

I made the mistake of buying long bulb twice, manage to get it right third time round haha

Haha, I couldn't believe it! Put the led in, went to replace the clear cover and was like, wtf?!
Measured the existing bulb then the led and there was a difference of 5mm!
Bought some flat top ones off eBay that are 18mm so should defo fit
